Sunset Clouds

I wanted to capture the unique cloud formations in this sunset image. The painting depicts a vibrant sunset with dramatic cloud formations over a landscape, blending elements of both Impressionism and Realism. The use of bold, expressive brushstrokes and the emphasis on capturing the fleeting effects of light on the clouds are key characteristics of Impressionism. At the same time, the detailed depiction of the silhouette of the landscape and trees adds a touch of Realism, grounding the scene in the real world.

This painting was selected for an exhibition entitled, “Greater Phoenix Pastimes” by the Greater Phoenix Economic Council in 2023.
