Summer Wildflowers
A former colleague, Hildy Gottlieb, took the stunning reference photo of these summer wildflowers in the Rio Vista Natural Resource Park in Tucson, Arizona. Situated on the former ranch site of Charles Bagley, the park is a popular horse area and offers access onto the Rillito River Park.
The painting features a different arrangement of wildflowers, evoking the warmth and vibrancy of summer. It uses a diverse range of colors, with warm yellows, oranges, and reds dominating the flowers. These colors create an energetic and lively mood, while the flowers spread across the canvas create a balanced composition that feels natural and organic. The eye is led through the painting by the placement of the flowers, which are distributed in a way that feels dynamic but not chaotic. The contrast between the warm flowers and the cool green and blue hues in the background further enhances the visual impact.
