Spring at Bartlett Lake
This painting was inspired by a beautiful photo of Bartlett Lake taken by Paul Folk of Paul Folk Photography in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Only 49 miles (79 km) from Phoenix, the lake is actually a reservoir that was formed by the damming of the Verde River.
The painting blends the atmospheric qualities of Impressionism with a realistic portrayal of a natural landscape. The lush and lively colors depict the spring season with visible brushstrokes that create texture, giving it a sense of the wind and water movement. It also utilizes light and color to convey the scene’s vibrancy and tranquility.
