Silver Sea

I created this original art of the ocean for a local group art show scheduled for March 2023. “Silver Sea” with its rich greys and silvers, represents the theme (“Silver Lining”) with the ebbs and flows of life. Sometimes, the waves are high and mighty, while other times, they’re smaller and less forceful.

The artwork fits within the Tonalism style, known for its use of a limited color palette and soft, atmospheric effects to create a mood rather than a detailed representation of the scene. The soft, muted tones in this seascape, particularly the silvery grays and whites, evoke a calm and contemplative mood. The focus is on the tonal variations in the waves and sky, rather than on fine details, giving the piece a serene and unified appearance.
