Lupins Landscape
On a visit to New Zealand, hubby and I drove around Lake Tekapo on the South Island where we saw Mount Cook in the distance. This river of violet and lavender lupins stretches across the foreground, like nature’s own carpet unfurled just for you. Their color is rich and optimistic; the kind of purple that makes you breathe a little deeper. They sway together as a chorus, soft and abundant, suggesting both joy and tenderness.
Beyond them, the still water holds the sky like a secret. It’s calm, reflective like a quiet mirror that invites you to pause. The mountains in the distance rise with a quiet strength, their silhouettes both protective and humbling. They feel timeless, as if they have watched countless seasons of blooms.
Overhead, the sky opens wide, luminous and clear, with soft clouds drifting like unhurried thoughts. The light suggests that golden hour is either beginning or ending – that magical, in‑between time when the world glows and everything feels a little more possible. The scene feels both inviting and contemplative, making it a striking statement piece for any space.
