Cactus Flower
During the spring, my hubby, Allen, takes pics of the desert flora when he walks our dog, Mitzy. One photo he took captured the full glory and bloom of a neighborhood cactus flower. The composition centers on the cactus flower, which dominates the upper part of the canvas, drawing the viewer’s eye directly to it. The cactus occupies the lower half, grounding the scene. The close-up perspective makes the flower and cactus feel almost monumental, emphasizing their forms. The lighting helps highlight the flower’s vibrant color, making it stand out even more against the muted tones of the cactus.
